This guidance is designed to minimise the risk of infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and is in addition to the extant: The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems. Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (L8). The control of Legionella bacteria in hot and cold water systems. HSG274 Part 2 Water safety for healthcare premises Part A: Design, installation and testing. SHTM 04-01 Water sources and potential infection risks to patients in high risk units – revised guidance. CEL 08(2013) An SBAR and Addendum for Augmented Care Settings should also be used alongside the guidance.
